This is the Debian GNU/Linux prepackaged version of xboard, the X
Window System interface to GNU Chess.

This package was initially put together by Ian Murdock <imurdock@debian.org>,
from sources obtained from:
 ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu/xboard/

This package has been maintained by Brian Mays <brian@debian.org> until
11 August 2005.
Modifications of xboard package for Debian GNU/Linux Copyright (C)
1996-2002 Brian Mays and are released under the GPL (on Debian systems
see "/usr/share/common-licenses/GPL-2").

The current sources were obtained from <http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/xboard/>.

Changes:

 * changed installation targets from /usr/bin and /usr/games

   lex
 * remove hack to Makefile to place info files in /usr/share

   1.2)
 * Tim Mann (versions 1.3 and later)
 * Elmar Bartel (new piece bitmaps for version 3.2)
 * Wayne Christopher (color scheme and old 80x80 piece
   bitmaps, taken from XChess)
 * Evan Welsh (cmail)
 * John Chanak (initial implementation of ICS mode)
 * Jochen Wiedmann (gamelist.c, lists.c, lists.h.  Wrote xboard.texi,
   mostly based on xboard.man and cmail.man. Minor additions to backend.c)

   to backend.c, xboard.c, and xboard.man)
